Buying

Axes can be bought from the axes tab in the Semi-Magical Shop In The Sky®. The cost of the first axe is 100 gold, and each axe after it is double the price of the previous axe, up until grade 20. There are no grades 21, 22 or 24 axes, but there are a grade 23 and 25 axe. The cost for the first 20 grades of axes can be found using 100*(2^(i-1) where i is the grade of axe.

Using

Axes are used for cutting down trees, removing tree taps and birdhouses from trees, and cutting down fencing -- just select an axe in your inventory then select what you want to chop.

Axes wear down both in terms of power and value with each use. The highest level axe that can be bought at the shop is "Recycled Plastic Axe" with a base power of 25 -- see sharpening stone and gold radish for more info on increasing axe power.

Making

Members can make an axe by selecting a metal bar in your inventory then selecting an anvil after you have put an "Axe Blacksmith Pattern" on the anvil. The power of the axe is equivalent to the level of the ore used to make the metal bar -- see forging for more info.

Note that forged axes may not be used to chop fencing owned by another player by decree and implementation of the Toadwater government

Axes made this way can be sharpened in the same way that shop-bought ones can.

Nonmembers may use axes made by members.
