Birds
From Toadwater Guide
In Toadwater birds can be attracted to trees by placing a birdhouse on the tree.
Bird Trees
Certain trees attract certain birds:
- Black tupelo can attract wood ducks
- Butternut can attract red squirrels (okay, not technically birds...)
- Horse chestnut can attract passenger pigeons
- Quaking aspen can attract sharpies
- Western hemlock can attract bearded vultures
- Yellow buckeye can attract yellow-bellied sap-suckers
- Black walnut can attract grey squirrels
- Christmas tree can attract mallard ducks
- Sugar Pine can attract an unknown bird
Using Birds
Each bird has a certain number of uses, the maximum number of uses is dependent on the tree age and the level of the birdhouse:
random( 1 , [TreeAgeInYears] / 10 ) * random( 1 , [BirdHouseLevel] )
Once all a bird's uses are used up, the birdhouse will be destroyed leaving a bare tree.
To use a bird on a birdhouse you placed, feed it a compost worm by selecting a worm in your inventory then selecting the bird. The bird will then take up an empty spot in your inventory. You cannot use other people's birds with the exception of a passenger pigeon hitched to a ponderosa pine (and anyone can "use" anyone's squirrels -- see squirrel for more info).
Removing Birds
You can instantly scare away your own bird by feeding it a piece of poo. You can scare other players's birds away with special items including Blitzen Poo, sour wiggleberries or salty wiggleberries.
