Ground Hoard

Although commonly called a ground hoard, ingame it is called a "Toadwater Hoard" when you buy it from the shop or have it in your inventory. It acts as a storage container for up to 10 different item stacks once placed on a lawn.

Placing

It must be placed on grown grass. Once placed, it will be named for the player who placed it ("So-and-so's Hoard" -- if you see one on the ground that is not named, it is likely the player that placed it has been purged). Many hoards placed in a row are commonly called a hoard road.

Using

To access ANY ground hoard no matter who placed it, step onto it and select yourself. This opens the Manage Hoard window which allows you transfer items between your inventory and the hoard. A few special items cannot be stored in a hoard including other hoards, statues, and blue sapphires.

Walking on a hoard follows the same rules as walking on creeping red fescue grass.

Removing & Destroying

To remove your own empty hoard use a shovel -- the hoard will be put in your inventory and the lawn will remain (bermuda grass may disappear). If a player has been inactive for at least twice their level in days, you should be able to remove their empty hoard in the same way. Note that removing one with a shovel costs 10.1 health.

To destroy an empty hoard placed by another player, use a mallet that has at least 32 (maybe 35) power -- the mallet is also destroyed upon removal (the grass will disappear). This can require many attempts and each attempt costs 5 health.
