Farming is the skill related to crops including radishes, strawberries, wheat, hemp, pumpkins, and tomatoes.

Fertilize a square to 100% with the Fertilizer of your choice. After that, you can plant a crop in that square. It usually takes 100 seeds of any crop to plant. Farming crops will always grow. The percentage that is displayed when planting lets the player their odds of getting a full crop. Once the crop is fully grown, this is dependent on the crop and fertilizer, the player can then step on the crop and click themselves to open the "Crop View" window. From this window they can pick the crops that they. Once all crops have been removed, the crop view window will close and the crop will disappear..

Fertilizer

There are four main types of fertilizer. Planting trees in fertilizer will increase your odds of a successful planting. Squares must be fertilized to 100% for you to be able to plant a crop in them, with the exception of pumpkins. Each click of fertilizing fertilizes by 10% and takes 1 health.

The types of fertilizer are as follows:

  • Dried Poo- This fertilizer is collected when you explode an outhouse by filling it to capacity. You must shovel it off the ground. It can then be used as fertilizer. This doubles your odds of planting any tree at 100% fertilized. It takes 100 Dried Poo to fertilize one square fully.
  • Grandma's Homemade Poo- This is the same as Dried Poo except for that it can be bought from the store and you do not have to work to get it. It also doubles your odds of planting any tree at 100% fertilized and takes 100 pieces to fertilize one square fully.
  • Compost worms- These can be found in crops and also dug up at the metric hour. The chances of getting one of these from the ground is highest at the metric hour and decreases quickly after that time. They double your odds of planting a tree at 100% fertilized and it only takes 10 compost worms to fertilize one square fully.
  • Enriched Bird Poo- This is wiped off statues. At max fertilization it triples the odds of planting any tree. It also halves the growth time of anything planted in it,whether it is fertilized to 100% or not. It takes 100 Enriched Bird Poo to fertilize one square fully.

You can not mix different types of fertilizer

Radishes

Radishes are the elementary crop of Toadwater. Radishes are used to buff many of the stats in Toadwater for a limited time and as healing items. Members can also use these to create shakes through Cooking. A list of what can be found in a radish crop can be found here: Crops#Radishes.

  • At a farming skill of 100 you can harvest all of the same type of radish, fungus, or compost worm in one click.
  • At a farming skill of 200 you can plant the crop at 100% and expect a completely full crop.

Flowers are a type of decorating material. They act very much like Creeping Red Fescue. They can be decorated with a Statue and walking on them is handled exactly like walking on a patch of CRF.

Types

  • "Yellow Marigold Flowers" can be acquired directly from a quest.
  • "Red Tulip Flowers" were originally distributed on SWI but this method of distribution proved unsuccessful as some players did not give the flowers enough time to produce replantable flowers while others took vast quantities for themselves. As a result, a tulip contest was held with the intention of having winners distribute them. So you may need to ask around to find some.
  • "Blue Chicory Flowers" Were also distributed through an event and can be obtained from other players.

How to Plant Flowers

To plant a flower patch, you may need to complete a certain part of a quest. Then you need:
  • 100% EBP-fertilized ground
  • 5 yellow marigold flowers or 5 red tulip flowers
The odds for planting are based on farming
  • Currently the exact numbers are unknown.
Tulips take twice as long to grow than marigolds.

How to Harvest Flowers

To harvest a flower patch, you must complete a certain part of a quest. Then you:
  • Water the patch with a water-filled pumpkin -- this may destroy the water-filled pumpkin
  • Once watered, the patch will become, and remain, healthy flowers
    • Healthy indicates that they may be picked although if they are not picked they still continue to grow (age) normally
  • Finally use milking gloves on the patch several times (watch your health)
    • You will get approximately double the age (in years) of bundles and four times the age (in years) of replantable flowers if you have at least two available slots in your inventory. If you only have one available slot, you will only get the bundles.
No one has admitted to discovering a use for "Yellow Marigold Bundle" or "Red Tulip Bundle".
