Crop (Garden) Seeds
Many crop seeds can be bought from the shop. The following table summarizes crop seed information:

Tree Seeds
Tree seeds come from cutting down trees yourself or picking up piles of wood/seeds left by workers who cut down trees. Balsam fir seeds can also be dug up from bare ground.
How to Get Higher Tree Level Seeds
Besides getting them from other players or other players' trees, the easiest way to get them, at least in small amounts, is by using an expensive statue. Since this is not an option for newer players, using a tree idol is the way to go. There are also some odd sources for a few high level tree seeds found in the mines.
What is Supposed to Happen When a New Tree Level is Released
Rumor has it that highest level tree that will ever be released is 75. Until the highest level tree is released, each new tree level must be "turned on" by the admins. This is a big event and no two tree releases have been the same *but* here is what is supposed to happen assuming there are no bugs/glitches in the system when tree level X is released:
- the new seed is available on statues
- the new seed is available for trade using fossilized seeds (the X-1 level seed (so the previous new seed) is also available this way)
- the X-1 and X-2 level seeds are available for trade using red fossilized seeds
- the X-2 and X-3 level seeds are available for trade using lesser fossilized seeds
- the X-10 level seed and all seeds below it down to level 11 are available on statues
- the X-2 level idol is turned on meaning it can produce X-1 level seeds
- the X level idol appears in profiles and players are able to become its tree lord
- the wood from the new seed's tree is available to be whittled into whittle-able, usable items
- there are sometimes bugs/glitches that shows the item in inventory but using it will make disappear forever or it will behave in an odd way
- the sap from the new seed's tree is available for collection by hand and by yellow-bellied sap-sucker
- all seeds/wood/products from the new tree should be tradeable via The Market, assuming you know the proper name of the item (even if one of its words contains a lowercase letter)
