If you know some more about BBCode, please PM me.

For all you who have been thinking, "I WANNA USE BBCODE, but I don't know how and I don't want to look like some sort of moron by asking questions," here's a guide.

Note1:Recently fixed width problems.
Note2:Replace ) with ] and ( with [.

Basics:

The basic BBCode includes (u)underlining(/u), making font (b)bold(/b), and (i)italicizing(/i) font. Easy as that. Go try it out!

Size

Size determins the size of the text. Pretty obvious, huh? Normal HTML would be <font size=X>Text</font>. Making the transition can be difficult. Yet another thing this guide will help with.
(size=1)Text(/size) - Normal.
(size=2)Text(/size) - Slightly bigger.
(size=3)Text(/size) - A bit bigger.
(size=4)Text(/size) - Approaching large...
(size=5)Text(/size) - Fairly big.

Examples:

(size=6)Text(/size)
Note: see how it resets after a certain point? Use this reset to make extra-tiny lettering.
(size=7)Text(/size)
(size=8)Text(/size)
(size=9)Text(/size)
(size=10)[size=10]Text[/size](/size)
(size=11)[size=11]EX[/size](/size)
(Size=12)[size=12]EX[/size](/size)

After a while, you get to the really big numbers. Like (size=50)[size=50]Text[/size](/size).

Color [size=10] For additional support regarding colors, visit Fressaria's post.[/size]

Color determins the color of the Text. The commands are rather easy.
Type (color=X)Text(/color). X will represent the color you want Text to be. Text represents whatever you are saying. Some examples:

(color=red)Text(/color)
(color=blue)Text(/color)
(color=white)Text(/color)
(color=yellow)Text(/color)

Another very limited approach is to type (color)Text(/color). Though this method doesn't work for most colors, it's convinient for some colors. Examples:
(red)Text(/red)
(blue)Text(/blue)

Also commonly associated with color are [/size]Emotes
.
Emotes can be done in one of two ways.

1. Type /me and then what you want the emote to say. Example:
* [MtG] Zorgon X jumps around giddly.
That was done by me typing "/me jumps around giddly."

Once you hit 'post' it translates it into the second version automaticaly.

2. Type (me=[your name])[action, space at the start not required](/me) Example:
* Zorgon dances like a ballerina.
All I had to type was (me=Zorgon)dances like a ballerina.(/me)
[/size]

URLs:

URLs are fairly simple. One way is to put www. Site Name .*/* ( Example: www.toadwater.com doesn't need any tags, but if you want it to say ToadWater and link to www.toadwater.com, you need to type (url=www.toadwater.com)ToadWater(/url) {Resulting in ToadWater}
Another way is the hard way.

Here are some easier to understand examples:

(url=www. *sitename*. * / whatever)Text you want to link(/url)

(url=www.toadwater.com)Text(/url)

Images:

To add an image, you must type (img)url/image name.*(/img).
For example, (img)http://www.toadwater.com/YaBBImages/logo.gif(/img) would turn into

To make the image link to some where, type (url=*link url*)(img)*Image url*(/img)(/url).

For example (one that I use a ton):

(url=http://www.toadwater.com/TWGuide/index.html) (img)http://www.toadwater.com/Themes/classic/images/english/twguide.gif(/img) (/url)

Would be

Another Example:

(url=http://www.toadwater.com/index.php?op=forum)(img)http://www.toadwater.com/YaBBImages/logo.gif(/img)(/url)

Would be

Fonts:

In order to make a font, you must type (font=*font)Text(/font).
Some examples:
(font=creepy)Text(/font)
(font=wingdings)Text{Text}(/font)

Times New Roman
Papyrus
Space Toaster
Monotype Corsiva
Arial
Blue Highway
French Script MT

Here is a simple list of fonts. -Incomplete-

[size=10]
Adolescence
Arial Black
Arial Narrow
Arial Unicode MS
Arnprior
Banjoman Open Bold
Baveuse
Bermuda Solid
Berylium
Blue Highway Condensed
Blue Highway D Type
Blue Highway Linocut
Book Antiqua
Bookman Old Style
Bookshelf Symbol 7
Bradley Hand LTC

Carbon Block
Century
Century Gothic
Comic Sans MS
Copperplate Gothic Bold
Copperplate Gothic Light
Courier New
Credit Valley
Creepy
Curlz MT
Earwig Factory
Edwardian Script ITC

[/size]

Horizontal Rules

A horizontal rule is a line that goes across the screen. Something like this:

If you ever want to add your own to anything, simply type (hr) And you get a great line. Have fun.
[/size]

Extras:
You can make your font move. It's simple. Type this:
(move)Text(/move). Your font will scroll across the screen! It's really quite fun.
You can cross out your text by typing in (s)Text(/s). Cool, isn't it? Something you can do with the slash command is the divide (:) symbol. You simply type (s): (/s) and it becomes (by the magic of BBCode) :. To get a nifty times symbol (works on most computers) hold down "Alt" and press 6,6,5,5,4 on the number pad. When you release Alt, you should end up with something that looks like . Yeah, it's a bit out of place here.... but in case you ever were typing math problems and needed to get a multiplication sign, here it is!
[/size]

Centering

To center something (whether it be an image, text, or a cow), type (center)TEXT(/center). It'll look something (if not the same) as this:
TEXT
Yeah, it's cool. Isn't it? And simple too.
[/size]

Text Position

The text position is where the text lies on the page. To use this, take a 10'' piece of wax paper, and put glue on it. Oh wait... I forgot, this is a BBCode guide... What I meant was: to change the position of your text, type (right)Text(/right), or (center)Text(/center). This will make the text at the given place. For example:
(right)This is in the right position.(/right)
(center)This is the center position.(/center)
[/size]

Superscripts and Subscripts.

Using Superscripts and Subscripts can be helpful some times. To take advantage of this option, all you need to do is type (sup)Superscripted text(/sup) and (sub)Subscripted text(/sub).

Coding and Quoting

Coding and quoting work in nearly the same way. The main difference is that when you quote, it says "quote", and when you code, it says "code". To make a code, type (code)This is where you put the code.(/code). It looks like this:
Code:
This is where you put the code.
It's really exciting, I know. To quote, type (quote){Quoted Text}(/quote). It looks like this:
Quote
{Quoted Text}
It's even more exciting, huh? Yeah, I know. But the special thing about Quoting is you can:
A.) click "Quote" at the top right of any message in this forum and automatically quote it.
B.) add who you are quoting.
To say who you are quoting/what you are quoting from, type (quote author={name of person/thing})Put the quoted text here.(/quote). Yeah, it's great. What I typed would look like this:

Quote from: {name of person/thing}
Put the quoted text here.
Now, I think that's enough about this boring stuff. Next we will get to something exciting! It is:

Lists

To create an unordered list, all you need to type is (list){first thing to be inserted into the list}(/list). That looks like this:
    {first thing to be inserted into the list}
[/size]

Combining BBCode:

A nifty way to make your posts look spiffy is to combine BBCode. Like, bold and italic and underlined and green all at the same time! Note you cannot combine URL with color. Or size with underline, bold and italic.[/i][/u][/color]

Smileys For The ToadWater Forums:

Sure, there's Smiley, Wink, Cheesy, Grin, Angry, Shocked, Cool, Huh, Roll Eyes, Tongue, Embarrassed, Lips Sealed, Undecided, Kiss, and Cry. But Qill Has been holding out on us. There are still several smileys you can use. Some of these include: Azn {^ - ^}, Mr Green {; g}, STFU {; f u}, Twisted {; t t}, Evil {> : D}, IPonU {; p}, Laugh {; l}, Tsk Tsk {; t s k}, Mr Elf {; e}, and some others. (take out the spaces when typing the smileys.) If you know any more, send them to me via PM.

This is the end of Zorgon's virtually complete reference for BBCode on the Toadwater Forums. The guide was written completely by Zorgon with the help of no other. I didn't take this from any site, and is all property of ME. Not you. ME. Thank you for reading and I hope this reference guide will help you in any form possible.

Note:All hand typed by Zorgon.  This cannot be redistributed. Period. (c) 2004-2006 Zorgon X

1. I like forum HTML more than BBCode. The name I mean. Oh, and for people who don't know what BBCode is.

2. For people who care.
