Ya... Lua is used for a scripting language for games... Commercial games include Monkey Island 4, Grim Fandango, Could be some others...

Ive been looking into lua for a project but the fact (as far as i know) that it lacks any way to program for networking put me off, just seems a little odd for a modernish (well lua v5 is modern) language to be lacking in.

My (admitedly limited) research into lua seemed to show it is JUST a scripting language.    A modern one, but really made for game scripting and such rather than writing full-fledged apps.   

Not as robust as perl or something like that.   IT did seem very useful AS a scripting language though.

(on further investigation)I guess you could write your own netcode as a c module, but then again you can do that in python and it already has quite a nice network library already built in.

I've never used python, but I keep reading good things about it.
