yeah, at first i thought it was because nobody knew it was back up and it was like an empty server, but now it really makes a difference

It wouldn't be noticeably faster, all that is keeping you down now is the built in Toadwater lag.  And a purge won't happen for a long time to come, so don't get your hopes up.
