Not like that matters. Only bad macroers would be caught in this fashion.

None of your suggestions would hurt macroers, most of them would hurt normal players, all of them would be a waste of dev time.

Nice try though. Next time try to think your kneejerk suggestions through.

Nice of you to be so concerned about "normal players".  Of course you are going to say that it won't hurt macroers.

No, common sense says it. None of those changes would hurt me in the least, other than the wa they hurt every player.

"If Train A leaves Station 1 at 3:30 at 50 MPH and heads directly east, and Train B leaves Station 2, which is 120 miles east of Station 1, at 4 at 55 MPH and heads directly west towards Station 1 on the same track as Train A, what time will it be when they collide? Neglect wind resistance, acceleration, friction, etc."

Because accleration, etc. is neglected, the fundamental physics law in use here is d=vi*t. By slight modification, we find that 120 = 50 * t + 55 * t
Solving for t, we find a time elapsed of about 1.14 hours. this is about 1 hour, 8.5 minutes. The trains will collide at about 4:38:30.

That's only right if they start at the same time.  However, A starts 30 minutes ahead of time, so it would be 120 = .5*50 + 50*t + 55*t
t=.9047=54 minutes and 17.14 seconds, collision at 4:54:17

No, how about this? Since the trains have to accelerate to get to their respective speeds, but we are to neglect acceleration, it would be safe to say that they never collide  Tongue

Damnit, I thought I put a different starting time on them, but didn't see it when I read through it...

ZFF: that's not how these problems work. You know their velocities, and the accelerations simply don't matter. If you want me to include those kinematics, I could give you the maximum force of an engine, the coefficients of friction and the final cruising velocity of an engine, and let you figure out the acceleration...

Interesting. Only an unattended macro would kill someone that many times in a row.
