Title: Breach in Terms of Service
Post by: Grafter on December 21, 2007, 02:20:27 am
Registration Agreement & Terms of Service

1. FORUM

You agree, through your use of this forum and game software, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, adult material, or otherwise in violation of any International or United States Federal law.

These terms have been breached. Another user(forum moderator) has breached these terms by posting;

false,
defamatory,
inaccurate,
and hateful

material aimed against me.

The word 'moron', which has been forced upon me as a custom title, is all of those four things and is thus a breach in the Toadwater terms of service.

I demand that the Custom Title 'moron' be removed from my profile and posts.

You talk in that tone of voice about your superiors again, you'll find yourself naked and poisoned stranded on SWI.

Also, please note, that those are YOUR terms. Us higherups didn't have to sign those, so nothing was breached.

So you are saying you are 'better' than all the other players?

Wow, it's nice to see a fair community, run by fair 'leaders'.

That's exactly what I'm saying.

You know, I'm actualy starting to like Faust. At least his communist views had a logical reasoning behind them, which would have aided newer players to an extent.

But this current Dictatorship. Damn.

I'm sorry, after looking at my avatar, did you expect a fair and democratic leadership ?

Looks like your title is well deserved.

Yes, give everyone 30x30 bases and have all the top 50 experience xp cuts, Faust was a genius.  ::)

So you base your entire forum personality on an Avatar of The Sith Lord? Wow. Is your real personality that boring?

I'm not saying I support Faust idea's, I'm saying they were more fair on the Toadwater community.

No, the Emperors personality just happens to match mine. Pure coincidence.

So your a power hungry, murdering dictator, who doesn't care about anyone besides yourself? Even you own 'friends' and followers?

Sounds like maybe moron might need to be altered to "bitterly enlightened".

Life is.  Get used to it.  Good grammar, punctuation, and religious avoidance of the Caps Lock key helps a lot though.

Yes, and on top of it, I know the difference between "you", "your" and "you're", you moron.

Stop whining about the community because the last time I checked this is an online game and not real life. Nothing online is fair. The games you play or the crap you buy. One way or another you are getting the short end of the stick somewhere. Just suck it up and move on. Enjoy your FREE game and just have fun. Cause Matt could make us all pay for the TW exerience.

I dunno, I kinda agree with him. I don't think any action should be taken against the admins (that's just silly), but it's pretty harsh to force that title on him.

Title: Re: Breach in Terms of Service
Post by: cakerug on December 21, 2007, 05:25:27 am
Hey, it's just a title. He could always prove the label wrong by not being a moron.

This is an online game? Oh no, my world is crashing in on itself!

Help me, oh Lord!

He could always prove the label wrong by not being a moron.
That's what makes a moron a moron -- with an ego so large that, in his thread announcing his joyous return to TW, decided the best approach in his very next post was to use honey:
What the fuck are you guys talking about?
Ahem...make that vinegar. Granted he said sorry a few posts later...but has continued with moronic postings.

Hopefully he has recognized his moronic ways and will reform himself. If not, maybe he will get a permaban like Faust. And do not bother asking what Faust did to deserve his permaban -- the admins can do whatever whenever and, not to put too fine a point on it, can refuse service to anyone anytime for any reason or no reason.

Clearly I have done nothing wrong. The first instance of me being a 'moron', was when I posted without checking some of my old settings. Granted this was a mistake on my part, yet it hardly warrents the label moron.

The next instance was during that post where I didn't know an admin had already altered my avatar, I had believed it had always been Elma Fudd. However, I soon found this fault and appologised.

And now I complained about the label. I only complained because I was labeled as a result of a minor mistake, a mistake easily fixed. I chose to complain in a was I believed would help my cause, citing the Terms of Service.

But disaster, I was attacked and hounded after my request, which made me defensive.

All I ask is that the title 'moron' be taken away, or at least made into something not so like the word 'mormon'. Please don't let me have any association with them, even if the association is only a slightly similar word.

Title: Re: Breach in Terms of Service
Post by: Benalron on December 21, 2007, 09:13:07 am
I would just like to say everyone is a moron. First off, giving him the custom title is rather stupid and I feel whoever gave him the title is a moron (or more so did something moronic). As for you Grafter, I feel this post is moronic. One, those terms do not state any form of punishment as far as I can tell, and of course the establisher of these rules is allowed to break them. If it bothers you so much, go make your own game and have your own rules. Regardless of the content of your post, the act of making the post is even more moronic. I do not feel like giving you the benefit of the doubt (so correct me if I am wrong). I am going to assume you did not contact Dragoon about removing the custom title. Assuming you did not do so (what I feel is the logical approach to the situation), you either acted moronically or intended this post to serve a purpose other than having the title removed. What your intent could possibly be I do not know, but I do know that the outcome is annoying people, and wasting everyones time (myself included)

edit:

Twisti, I am also assuming that both you and even Dragoon had to agree to the forum rules anyways... especially considering the account for goon was created before he was the owner / operator of the forums, correct? Anyways, attaching the title is also not a "post" as the quote directly states.

Clearly? Why? For pointing out that Benalrons posting did not reflect what he was trying to say?

No, for being a moron. Although I admit I'm not sure yet if you were born as a retard or did you hit your head very hard when you were a kid.

Title: Re: Breach in Terms of Service

I actualy do feel special in that I have stirred enough interest to generate a custom title. I just don't want it to be 'moron'.

'His Majesty' maybe. Or even 'Most Loved'. But I doubt I'll be recieving that last one.

LA personne ennuyant means "the annoying guy" or something like that
La personne actually refers to a female... (I hate typos)

Title: Re: Breach in Terms of Service
Post by: cakerug on December 23, 2007, 01:46:09 am
Nope, I think Hubert's right here. The word personne's grammatical gender is feminine and though sometimes in French the article (and the word itself sometimes) does change depending on the object/thing's actual gender.. it doesn't apply to personne. So a guy can be referred to as la personne.

edit: If you look personne up in a French dictionary it'll say nom feminin. But if you look up something that could be either gender it'll say it can be either (nom commun).
