Title: March 14th, 2014. Elder Carrots, Lassos and Alchemy
Post by: Travis on March 15, 2014, 05:40:33 am
It's been a while since a formal update topic has been posted but here is a summary of the development for Toadwater over the last three months.

The carrot crop is nearing completion and now gnarled carrots can be washed in a well for a chance to find an Elder carrot.  Elder carrots are a great companion for any daring dwarf, helping to reduce the fail timers for whittling, construction and weaving.  Also while whittling, dwarfs that recently consumed the magical carrot have a chance to make an extra product.

Rami is teaching the secrets of lassos to adventurous dwarfs that discover a red topaz while mining.  After leaning the recipe, lassos are made with all-purpose rope and a metal bar at any anvil.  Lassos are a valuable tool for moving around would-be-raiders or new players that can't seem to figure out how to walk straight.  While combat will never be valued in the worth formula, lassos are currently the only way to gain combat experience, so show off your brutality and lasso up some dwarfs.

Alchemy has been given several needed touch-ups.  Five new basil spawns have been added to the main island, several new tonics that use previously unneeded herbs, easier stacking of recipes, and much much more!  I am always looking for new ideas, so please post on the forums or send me a message with your inspiration.

In other news, a few things have been cleaned up for new players such as when you first log in, there should be less harassing messages about global events.  Also popups can be earned at level 30 and additional quartz knives can be bought with these new points.

Stay on the lookout for the future updates.  A new alchemy/cooking crop is in the developmental stages and will be released with the next update.  Here are some sneak peaks: (http://toadwater.com/P/Sunflower11.gif) (http://toadwater.com/P/Sunflower12.gif) (http://toadwater.com/P/Sunflower13.gif)
