If you are attempting to whittle something, make sure you have the wood selected.

  ... one of the reasons we have trouble getting new players is that we aren't very nice to them.

Anyway, Conot...

To empty your poo...
Plant a tree. When it grows, chop it down.  You'll get wood.
Whittle this wood into a plank.
Then construct this wook into an outhouse.  You will now have outhouse materials.

Now, take a shovel or use your hand (don't have anything selected) and dig a hole.  You have to dig the hole 100mm deep for each level of outhouse you want to use.  For example, you'll probably be making a grade 1 outhouse (from balsam fir wood)...  so you only need to dig the hole 100mm deep.

Once you have the hole deep enough, put the outhouse materials on it and then walk on top of said outhouse.

I was nice.  I didn't make any sarcastic comments or tell him to eat worms.

However, the guide is there.  It has a nice walkthrough for new players, and answers alot of important questions  Tongue

Yeah, semi-not-mean, I guess.  Still, I think it'd be best if we all jsut did our best to actually help newbies learn the game... especially uber-noobs with easy questions.  Sure, we all know the answers, but just humor them sometimes.

ANCIENT CHINESE PROVERB: Give a man a fish, he will eat for a day. Teach a man how to fish, and he will eat for a lifetime.

In other words... If you dont point the noobs (not meant in a negative sense) to find their own answers, you will be answering them all day long.

When i was started i was pointed to the guide, and i read it, and still use it to this day...

What is the question that responds: 42?

oh really?

in base 13, 6*9=42 Tongue

also, I guess you havent actually read the books, because arthur dent says that the answer is 6*9, which probably refers to how the universe is so random and unpredictable, as well as impractible

in C, this following code gives me 42 as 6*9:

#include <stdio.h>
#define SIX 1 + 5
#define NINE 8 + 1

int main(void)
{
¬  ¬  printf( "What do you get if you multiply %d by %d? %d\n", SIX, NINE, SIX * NINE );
¬  ¬  return 0;
}

ya know why? because now it reads it as 1+5*8+1=1+40+1=42 Grin

Grin

EDIT: but yes, I know that mathematically 6*7 is 42
