If you have the cash go for it, but be warned the first Batch of PS3s may have bugs.  Undecided    Also you are Smart Chosing the PS3 console due to Nintendo Revelution just mae their consoles where you can't rent games.  Cry  Plus even Though X-Box 360 gots some sweet graphics, they don't have a great array of selection other than Morrowind Oblivion and maybe some other tiles.  Sad

PS3 is the way to go for the selection alone and you will stille be able to rent titles.  Grin

Every game will code itself to one system.  In other Words a Nitendo Revelution Game once played on a Revelution system will not play on any other system of Revelution of Nintendo.  Cry  In other words let's say the rentals get stupid and rent it out (a Game) it will only played on the First System it is played on.  Which sucks.  Angry

So Nintendo Revelution just F*cked themselves by earasing themselves from Rental shops.  They say it's to prevent piracy ( I say its B*ullshit)  Angry

If you Dont' believe me, Buy a DVD of E3 Access 2005 ($10 Bucks) at a gamestop.  It comes with 4 DVDs on 360, PS3, Nintendo Revelution, and the newst PC games of 2006.  Cool

I sat down and watched the E3 video about it.  President of Nintendo himself said it.. anti-piracy coding will be in the new revolution.  I really hope that doesn't shoot down the rentals.

I had a Gamecube up till a couple of months ago... I'm going for Revolution if i can get the money together... I allways thought that nintendo had the most original games... But I don't know if this is only here in belgium, but gamecube games are allready hard to rent anywhere... Most of the shops around here only offer ps2 and xbox games...

Hey Earl-of-Rot, Stucy is right.  It is Sony that people created that tech.  I don't think they will implement it for the same reasons you said, but who knows.

On the plus side, you can use the PS3 controller to pretened to be Crocodile Dundee.

I would imagine that Nintendo or Sony would release 'rent only' games, that would be coded to be played on multiple machines... or else they're going to make games super cheap (think 20 bucks instead og 50 per game)... just a guess tho.  If neither of that happens, then I think they're fucked.
