As shown by past actions, Matt's mainly, you do not need a post saying something is against the rules in order to make it so.

True. On the other hand, Dragoon wants the government to have more power and take more action. I'm certain he will appreciate this move.

I appreciate the thought of buying us edicts with your own money, but, like paputa, disagree with emptying the government fund for a ton of edicts. it would take tremendous time and donations to regain our wealth

It wouldn't take an enormous ammount of time, azetner has six times more money then the government, and he is one player.  If we were trying to regain the fund, we easily would.

Players can't buy edicts from the governments. I haven't kept up too incredibly well, but there isn't any rule against, say, running a bunch of edict, and then donating a bazillion bucks to the treasury :0/

Made sense to me.  You can donate the money to the government, then use the treasury to buy the edict.  In effect paying for the edict from your own pocket.

Matt said: "Players can't buy edicts from the governments."

That means players can NOT buy edicts.

Then Matt said: "I haven't kept up too incredibly well, but there isn't any rule against, say, running a bunch of edict, and then donating a bazillion bucks to the treasury"

That means players CAN buy edicts.

Two completely opposite statements.

Wrong.

"Players can't buy edicts from the governments." = there is no physical way for any player to purchase edicts themselves.

"I haven't kept up too incredibly well, but there isn't any rule against, say, running a bunch of edict, and then donating a bazillion bucks to the treasury" = players can't buy edicts but as with every rule in this game there is a loophole.

No, that means if you run an edict and then donate a similar amount to the treasury, it's a loophole around the current system...
