How will this happen when my workers have been hired by someone else???

I rehired my workers last night at 11:09pm EST for 10.9 diddies.  Today, they are all gone.  They each had over 150 jobs.  Charles ShapkawzIt had almost 200.  You can see from my logs (copied below) that they disappeared shortly after I rehired them.

My best farmer and my best forestry worker have been rehired.

They will be returned to normal status for the players who rehired them this morning.

If someone hires workers, their queued up jobs will disappear. Looks like a fuckup of some sort.

If this continues, I see no need to continue my subscription.  I have worked hard to keep my workers.  Good workers.

I long for the days of having backups to fall back on when things screwed up like this.

In those days, you NEVER got your workers back. Restoring a backup ALWAYS kills all workers. So far, we have retained our workers through 7 of 8 database issues. I think thats a pretty good track record.

Also, donating has nothing to do with regular workers.

I dunno why the workers got lost. I put the worker hold code in before I started debugging the problem this morning.

I'm very sorry for any inconvenience caused. I will be returning workers to normal state tonight, some time after 10.

If worker rehiring continues to be an issue, we may have to look at redoing how normal workers are hired and rehired.

If you had an issue with your personal workers quitting on you, please let us know, but there isn't much we can do about regular workers. If I had realized that the hold code didn't work before I turned the game back on, I could have restored the workers (but the game would have had to stay off until now, because I was already late for class just from fixing the game.) Unfortunately, the problem with workers was not discovered until after the game was restored. After that point, it is indeed a screwy deal for everybody, but I can't do a restore anymore at that point.

I think that we need new regular workers, just to throw that out... we could have a giant brainstorm for the names and have a bunch of good ones really fast... I'm noticing that whenever I lose my workers, someone else buys it up within 10 minutes, and that the top few workers of each type are almost never let go... so what we need is new workers... not good new workers, just new workers that can be brought up to a good level...

You can always subscribe which gives you two workers permanently. The game already has a TON of regular workers.

My workers are going to expire in about an hour.  I have a subscription, and May 1st has passed.  I hope things will be fixed quite soon.

EDIT:  Renewed.  Thanks!

Umm I dont know if this is a bug, or its saposed to be this way, but my workers work much slower when im off the game then when im on.
(337-12-0) 0:09:08   Mayor Plumfront finished fertilizing a field for Johny Apple Head
(337-12-0) 0:07:92   Dr. Bombay finished fertilizing a field for Johny Apple Head
(337-12-0) 0:06:86   Fred Ziffel finished fertilizing a field for Johny Apple Head
(337-11-9) 9:75:98   Mayor Plumfront finished fertilizing a field for Johny Apple Head
(337-11-9) 9:75:94   Dr. Bombay finished fertilizing a field for Johny Apple Head

(337-11-9) 9:46:78   Fred Ziffel finished fertilizing a field for Johny Apple Head
These are the times the workers work  at when im off the game, there ferts are spread about 30 minuts each.

(337-11-9) 6:81:93   Fred Ziffel finished fertilizing a field for Johny Apple Head
(337-11-9) 6:81:21   Mayor Plumfront finished fertilizing a field for Johny Apple Head
(337-11-9) 6:80:75   Dr. Bombay finished fertilizing a field for Johny Apple Head
(337-11-9) 6:80:26   Fred Ziffel finished fertilizing a field for Johny Apple Head
(337-11-9) 6:79:47   Mayor Plumfront finished fertilizing a field for Johny Apple Head
These are time times the workers fertilise at when im on the game, they are only spaced out about 1.70 minuts per fertilising
Is this new or a bug?

Thats been true since workers were first introduced to the game Johny.  It's simply because of the way the code works.

If your worker finishes a job, then they will move on when you next refresh the game (i.e. do an action).  And if there is no refresh then all workers are periodically checked, I believe it's about every 5 minutes.  So if you are online they move on much faster.

Think of it this way, if you're online and watching them, they work to the best of their ability.  If you're offline and not watching, they're slackers.

the refreish rate of the game is around 5 minutes. and if you leave the game open without doing anything workers are still faster then not having the game open at all so the worker check has to be more like 10 or 15 minutes.
