Yeah...on dang near every forum-related page the TW logo still goes to the new homepage instead of the forums. Can we change this? Clicking the logo has been the fastest way to refresh the forums for me (to check for new posts, etc).

Just use the unread posts link to check for new posts, clatra:

http://www.toadwater.com/index.php?action=unread;all;start=0

By far the most important link on these boards. Obviously, you'll have to click "mark all as read" the first time you use it ;)

ps.: No, I don't know how to get that link on this site, I got it in IRC from Qill a long time ago.

Thanks twisti! - the "last 5 posts" box on the front page sometimes just isn't enough

For another healthy alternative, if you scroll down to Forum Stats, there's a link that reads "View the most recent posts on the forum."
This shows the last 100 posts on the forum.

The home button in the menu bar goes to the forum.
New homepage is fine. New home button is fine -- sort of.

FWIW there are still some pages that lack the home button *and* clicking the plant-colored TW button directs one to toadwater.com (the new homepage). Like:
http://www.toadwater.com/TWeb/GameStats.php
http://www.toadwater.com/TWeb/Gov.php
http://www.toadwater.com/TWeb/Buying.php

Instead of fixing these few places let me inquire: why does *any* button in toadwater.com/... need to direct to the new homepage? Anyone already here would rarely need to go to there.

I think it would make better sense if, as before, the plant-colored TW button would direct to the "refreshed" forums and the smaller home button would direct to the new homepage. I find it easy and intuitive to use the TW button to refresh everything at once (not just to see if there are new posts) without having to refresh through my browser.

And thanks for folks pointing out forum tricks and I realize that there are probably a zillion ways for me to refresh PMs, forums, profiles, the government page, etc...but why learn a zillion ways when one way has done the job fine for so long?
 Wink

Unless, as usual, I am missing something obvious.

We can always make the Toadwater logo on the new homepage link to toadwater.com/index.php
That way, if there's anything that leads you to the new homepage, you just need to click again in the same location to get back to the forums Cheesy

I was not as clear as I could have been. So, in summary:

TW button = forums
home button = homepage

makes more sense to me and, probably, to noobs than

TW button = homepage, but sometimes the forums
home button (when it exists on a page) = forums

To add to the flash page why not make a banner. Dunno what it is called but a code that you can Embed/copy and paste this banner/animation directly onto your website, blog, forum, etc.
