From where or whom might one obtain pea plants? Is this a member's only crop?

Thank you.

It is a reward for completing the Jute Quest on NWI (you need a Christmas tree to get there)

Follow these steps.

If you missed out on getting your on Christmas tree last xmas then you will need to get one now, There are many ways to do this!
1) There is a Christmas Tree on SWI, Hit one that is something like (10 years old) with a mallet and you could be rewarded with one seed. (if you get a message that it is not old enough you will have to wait till the tree is older worked on mine when it was 16 years old)
2) Barter with players who have one get get a seed or two.

Now that you have your tree, put a birdhouse in it, and wait.

Now that you have a new kind of duck it will take you to NWI, talk to the only NPC there he will give you the Jute Quest.

Wild Jute is hard to come by, but to get your pea seed you will have to get Jute weave jute and make a pea bag, giving the pea bag to the NPC as the end results of the Jute quest will reward you with pea seeds!

You may have to complete quests unrelated to jute in order to get to the Jute quest.

Rules of thumb when dealing with peas.
1) make sure you always have an empty pea bag on you when harvisting peas!
2) never use the last value point of your pea bag, this will distroy the pea bag and you will have to start all over!
3) when harvesting peas make sure to have the pea bag on hand that you used to plant the peas, the seeds go into the value of the pea bag ONLY and not your inventory, no pea bag no seeds, if you obey rule one then they will go into the empty pea bag but you will miss mutations unless the first crop you pick is a mutation then you will miss the rest of the seeds!

I hope this helps!

A couple edits. I do not think there is a Christmas tree on SWI anymore. As well, wild jute is much easier to come by now and yields at least one jute seed and often times more.

Can you just give Larry a peabag?  Do you have to do the alchemy quests first?

you can't weave the peabag until you start the jute quest. So yea. . .

The Tree might not be on SWI so it might be harder to get the Seeds now. . . (I will look next time I am there)

Maybe we should also provide a disclaimer about the REMOVAL of Christmas Trees at this point ...

Disclaimer: Just like regular Christmas trees. The only fitting fate for them is to be removed in a ball of fire. They can't be killed any other way because the magic of Christmas is immune to anything but a raging inferno.

If I'm not mistaken... Can't they be malleted to pieces?

Malleting them reduces their age back to 1 day and gives you a seed if the tree is old enough. So far, i dont think they can be malleted to death. =/ dunno though.

They can not be malleted to death.  If you try to use a mallet on a tree that is too young to yield a seed then you just get the error message, "Maybe later ..."

Can anyone tell me how many tonics it requires?  And is it the Organic T-Lax Tonic?  I am up to 25 and all Larry says is "hello"
I did the first part but closed the window too fast to jot down the recipe.

I don't recall how many it required, but I remember having the same question...
It wasn't a ton more... it might have been 100 or so, but it wasn't 1000 or anything!

Thank you Caspian!  I'll try another 50 and see if that works.
Good to "see" you again!
