I have seen references to shards of granite but all I can figure out today is how to get lumps, chunks, and splinters. How does one get shards?

I assume shards = splinters. Ive never gotten shards of granite or quartz.

Larry told me something about using "shards" on lumps to shape the lumps. I have tried putting a lump of granite on the ground then using splinters on it but no joy. What am I supposed to do with granite on the ground?

As far as I am aware minerals arent finished and while using splinters may have a future use, I dont think they do now. Putting a square of granite on the ground though is the foundation for making a mailbox.
