I need a internet tech question answered and many of you seem to fit the bill.
If I switch from my land line to a 5gb limit 3g conection, how long can I play toadwater before I use up 5gb?
I am having a hard time converting 5gb to surfing/toadwater time.

I just ran a short test and one TW action runs me at about 4kb. So 1000 actions = 4mb, a million actions = 4gb.

Using Twisti's data, and assuming you do one action every five seconds:  That's 72 days of straight toadwater playing.  So with moving around on your staff and stuff, that would lower it alot, but you should be good.

How much data is used/streamed when you aren't performing an action, say you have workers doing things for you, or just the steady refresh?

Trying to figure out how much I'm using during a workday to ensure I stay below the radar, heh .

If you close the client, no actions are sent and no traffic is produced. If you leave the client open and don't use it, one action is sent every minute I believe, so 4kb/60 seconds.

So about 1.7 MB in a workday, what about using the launcher from the TW website to start the client?  Do those files get stored somewhere and just updated with new data like Minecraft, or is it a new download every time you run that version of the client?

It's like Minecraft. Only during updates are new files downloaded. And of course new images of things like trees you've never seen before are downloaded once and then stored locally.
