Thinking of starting whittling and recycling edicts, any preferences for time?

I've got the wood (tee hee) to start both edicts, does anybody have preferences? Also, can I activate both at the same time? If I have to choose, would anybody prefer one over the other?

Weekends are usually best.

You can activate both, but you need to pay separately for each one.

I would prefer recycling over whittling if it came down to that.

If you don't mind waiting another week, I could probably start several consecutive edicts. Allows you to save your wood and get even more in preparation for that!
